Sheffield United head into their final game of the season against Southampton with nothing to play for but manager Chris Wilder and his side need to be given massive credit for how they have performed this campaign.

Many expected the Blades to be relegated but they have confounded all expectations and could finish eighth if they better Burnley and Arsenal’s results on Sunday.

Their opponents Southampton recovered from an awful start to the season, which included a 9-0 defeat to Leicester, and will comfortably finish midtable, which will be seen as a big achievement by head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.

In terms of team news, United only have one injury doubt with midfielder Luke Freeman still struggling to recover from a knock.
