Premier League Rival Tables £6m Bid As They Look To Hijack Blades’ Move For Championship Star

Burnley have made a £6m bid for Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill, according to reports in the local media.

Both Sheffield United and Brighton are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old but the Clarets have made the first move for the Robins star.

Brownhill only has eighteen months remaining on his current contract at Ashton Gate and it is thought that City will let him leave during the current transfer window or at the end of the season.

The Blades went strongly in for the midfielder prior to the close of the window in the summer, and it is believed that their interest has remained strong following Brownhill’s performances in the Championship this campaign.

The midfielder has been manager Lee Johnson’s de factor captain with Ashley Williams rarely in the starting eleven due to injury and form.

Whether Burnley‘s offer will force United or Brighton into making a bid of their own, we shall have to wait and see.
