Journalist Reveals Blades Star’s Transfer Stance Amid Liverpool And Arsenal Rumours

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge is not willing to stay and play for the Blades in the Championship, according to Eurosport‘s Dean Jones.

The journalist reported earlier this week that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the Norwegian, and despite claims in the local media that United are happy to keep hold of the player, Jones says the 23-year-old has no intention of remaining at Bramall Lane:

“Sander Berge is somebody that’s going to be available, and at a decent price at the end of the season. He doesn’t want to be playing Championship football, that’s not why he arrived at Sheffield United. There’ll be other clubs that are closely tracking that as well, I’m sure, in the next few weeks.”

Aston Villa and Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Berge but we shall have to wait and see who makes a formal approach for the midfielder.

Jones claims the Blades will make him available for a reasonable price, but there are other reports that suggest the Yorkshire club would demand a lot more than the £22.5m they paid for the player just over a year ago.

If United do play hardball, it may cause issues with Berge, who appears to be very keen on leaving at the end of the season.
