Sheffield United have announced that young midfielder Harvey Gilmour has left the club to join Tranmere Rovers on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old had spent the first half of the season on loan at Prenton Park, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 23 appearances for the League Two club.
Some Fans on Twitter are disappointed that Gilmour was allowed to leave the club:

However, others think that the midfielder was unlikely to make the breakthrough and wished the player well:

Anyone ever stopped to think maybe the player requested to move? He needs to be realistic, at his age if there’s a chance to get settled make a career for himself elsewhere he’d be mad not to go for it. Midfield is our strongest area – is he really going to get in anytime soon?

The Championship can be a difficult league for players to break through into the first team and Blades boss Chris Wilder has put his faith in experience as he looks to gain promotion to the Premier League.
The club confirmed the loan signing of Gary Madine from Cardiff City yesterday. The 28-year-old is United’s second recruit of the January transfer window, following on from the loan capture of Kieran Dowell from Everton last week.
