Wilder Reveals Henderson Cannot Be Recalled By Manchester United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that goalkeeper Dean Henderson will be staying with the club for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan from Manchester United but the Blades boss has said that the Red Devils do not have the option to recall the England Under 21 international during the January transfer window:

“There’s different set-ups in different loans and different caveats. Dean is here for the season. He’s playing and he’s playing well.”

The Championship side also have Ben Woodburn on loan from Liverpool, and there has been talk that the Reds will look to take the player back to Anfield because of a lack of game time in the first half of the season.

In his pre-match press conference yesterday, Wilder revealed that the Merseyside club do have a break clause in the loan agreement for the forward.

While Henderson has played every single minute in the Championship this season, Woodburn has fared less well, having made just two starts and playing just ten minutes of first-team football since September.
