Wilder Opens Up On Sheffield United’s Transfer Plans For January

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that he is looking to strengthen his squad further with more signings in the January transfer window.

The Blades spent approximately £40m in the summer and despite sitting fifth in the table after 12 games played, the United boss revealed he has been in conversation with the owner Prince Abdullah about potential new additions:

“I’m already talking to the owners. I think it’s really important that we continue to improve and move forward.”

Wilder went on to say that he thinks the physical demands of the Premier League mean he needs a bigger squad to sustain momentum in the second half of the campaign.

With the club currently on 17 points, the Blades are nearly halfway there to the magical total of 40 which would likely guarantee top-flight football for another season.

Their 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Saturday means they are still unbeaten away from home but, despite that, it appears that Wilder isn’t going to sit on his laurels, and be happy with the results so far.
