Wilder Dealt Blow As 27 Year Old Midfielder Departs The Blades

Mo Besic’s loan deal at Sheffield United has expired and he has now gone back to Everton, according to reports in the English media.

The Blades had been in conversation with parent clubs regarding the extension of loan agreements for Besic, Panos Retsos, Richairo Zivkovic and Dean Henderson. It would allow the players to be available for the remaining league games.

However, it seems like United have failed to agree terms for Besic and the 27-year-old has returned to Goodison Park, leaving manager Chris Wilder with one fewer option in midfield.

The Bosnian international was not a first-team regular, having made just six starts in all competitions this season, but it does reduce the size of the Blades’ squad heading into a busy fixture schedule at the end of the month.

United are one of four teams in the top flight who have ten remaining league fixtures, while there is also the small matter of a FA Cup quarter-final to be played.
