Wilder Confirms Blades Have One Major Injury Doubt Heading Into The Game Against Leicester

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has revealed that midfielder John Fleck faces a late fitness test ahead of their game against Leicester City on Saturday.

The 27-year-old picked up a knock in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend and had to be substituted midway through the first half. The Blades boss has said that they will give the Scotsman all the time they can to recover:

“We’ve got a doubt about John Fleck for the weekend… We’ll give John as much time as possible.”

There was better news for Calum Robinson, though. The summer signing from Preston also sustained an injury against Palace but Wilder says the forward is fit and ready to play.

Fleck’s absence could present an opportunity for one of three new recruits to get their full debut. Luke Freeman came on for Fleck versus the Eagles and would be the favourite to replace the Scot.

However, Wilder also has Everton loanee Mo Besic at his disposal as well as his £5m signing from Nottingham Forest, Ben Osborn.
