Wilder Calls On Board To Make Decision Over Swoop For 20M Rated Liverpool Ace

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is hoping that the Yorkshire club’s board will agree to make a bid for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster before the transfer window closes.

The Reds are reportedly demanding as much as £20m for the 20-year-old, which the Blades are reportedly reluctant to pay, and when asked about progress on signing the player, Wilder admitted that a decision needs to be made soon:

“I have been focusing on the team but time is running out and we all understand that. I have recommended to the board that we bring a couple of players in. We have put some names to them and hopefully, they will look at that and agree with my assessment that we need to strengthen.”

Brewster has a number of potential suitors with Crystal Palace said to be favourites to sign the player at the moment but no team is believed to be close to finalising a deal for the England Under 21 international

With deadline day set for next Monday, a lot can happen between now and then. Wilder will be hoping United’s board approve his recommendations and get a few signings in through the door that can help reinforce the squad ahead of a jampacked fixture schedule.
