United Shot-Stopper Looking For Massive Pay Rise Before Sealing Blades Switch

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has asked for a pay rise that could see him earn £75,000 a week, according to reports in England.

It is expected that the 22-year-old will sign a new deal at United before being allowed to join Sheffield United on a second successive season-long loan.

Blades boss Chris Wilder has recently said he is confident that Henderson will return to Bramall Lane:

“He wants his United contract sorted out first of all but, in terms of putting another temporary deal in place, I think we’re in a good place with that one.”

The England Under 21 international is said to be seeking a contract worth more than United’s most recent signing Daniel James.

Despite his lack of experience, the Red Devils agreed to give the winger a five-year contract, worth £67,000 a week, or £3.5m a year.

Henderson is looking for a similar deal after impressing out on loan in the Championship. Whether his reported contract demands will delay a potential loan, it remains to be seen.

Sheffield United have yet to make a summer signing but have reportedly had a £4m offer for QPR’s Luke Freeman turned down.
