Transfer Round Up: Blades Target Stoke City Star, Spurs Look To Seal £55m Deal And Brighton ‘Close’ To Securing Australian Playmaker

Sheffield United want to sign Stoke City’s Badou Ndiaye, according to reports in the French media. The Blades are keen on signing a new midfielder before the transfer window shuts.

Manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that the Yorkshire club are looking for a central midfield player and hope to announce a new signing before the end of the day:

“I should imagine, like every manager up and down the country, we are close [to signing another player] but things change pretty quickly. Hopefully, we can do something before 5 o’clock.”

Tottenham are looking to seal a move for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. The Argentinian international is reportedly in the country to have a medical.

Spurs are believed to have agreed a €60m (£55m) fee for the 23-year-old. The London club are also expected to announce the signing of Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham in a £25m deal.

Brighton are looking to secure the signing of Huddersfield Town playmaker Aaron Mooy before 5pm, according to Seagulls boss Graham Potter. Speaking about the prospect of signing the Australian international, he said:

“Nothing to report yet in terms of finalising it but I think we’re quite close. We want to try and get that done of course but until then he’s not our player. In terms of his attributes as a footballer, he’s got qualities that I think will fit in well with our group and I think he’ll be a good addition if we can get it over the line.”
