Samatta could cost as much as £12m, with Brighton apparently the frontrunners for the Tanzania international.
Wigan and Millwall will go head to head in the race to secure the signing of Portsmouth winger Jamal Lowe, according to reports.
Pompey are said to be holding out for £3m and they have already rejected a £1.5m bid from the Latics for the 24-year-old who has one-year remaining on his contract at Fratton Park.
