Transfer News: Blades Seal £20m Deal, Brighton Agree £22m Fee For Championship Defender And Villa Target £12m Rated Congolese Star

Sheffield United have signed Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie for a club-record fee. It has been reported that the Blades will pay £17.5m upfront, with £2.5m in add-ons, making the deal worth up to £20m. Manager Chris Wilder is delighted to have signed the Scottish international:

“We need options at the top of the pitch and Oli, as anyone who has watched a significant amount of Championship football will tell you, offers plenty in that area. He fits the profile of our transfer policy this season and is an age where his better years are ahead of him – hopefully, he and the club can continue to grow together.”

Brighton have reportedly agreed a £22m fee for Bristol City centre-back Adam Webster. The 24-year-old is expected to travel down to the South coast for a medical ahead of finalising his move to the Seagulls.

Aston Villa are lining up a move for Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The Republic of Congo international spent last season on loan at the Super Lig side and has only just finalised a permanent switch from Standard Liege.

However, it is believed that Galatasaray would be open to selling Luyindama for a profit this summer, and Villa are said to be preparing a £12m bid for the 25-year-old before the transfer window closes next week.
