Tottenham are preparing a £22m bid for Dean Henderson, according to reports in the UK. Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on the Manchester United player replacing Hugo Lloris as his new number one.

It did appear likely that the 23-year-old would be heading for a third straight loan spell at Sheffield United, with the Red Devils keen to keep him despite David De Gea still being seen as first choice.

Whether Spurs’s interest will change things, we shall have to wait and see. Chelsea have also been mentioned as a possible destination in the past but United are believed to be hesitant about selling to a main rival.

With the Manchester club also seeing him as a long term successor to De Gea, Chris Wilder’s side still look to be in pole position to keep him for a little while longer.

Tottenham also have substantial loan payments to consider, which means significant investment in the transfer market is unlikely, so Blades fans shouldn’t be too concerned about this latest development.
