The Blades Join Spurs In Race To Sign £12.5m Rated Turkish Keeper

Sheffield United and Tottenham have both made enquiries about Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, according to reports in the Turkish media.

With reports linking loanee Dean Henderson with moves to Chelsea and PSG in the summer, it is likely that the Blades will be looking for a new number one.

Bayindir appears to be one of United’s primary targets, with the Turkish Under 21 international reportedly available for a fee in the region of £12.5m at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old is Fenerbahce’s first-choice goalkeeper but the Super Lig side do need to sell in order to balance the books and they already have a promising young shot-stopper lined up to replace him in goal.

The Blades could well be Bayindir’s preferred destination with manager Chris Wilder able to offer first-team football, in contrast to Spurs where he would have to get past World Cup winner Hugo Lloris for a place in the starting eleven.
