Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas predicts it could well be an end-to-end game between Sheffield United and Arsenal at Bramall Lane on Monday evening.

The former striker says that the Blades will score against a shaky Gunners defence, but he is expecting his former club to eventually come out on top by the end of the match:

“Arsenal should be targeting third place with how they have been. They are liable to the counter-attack and you cannot trust the defence, but I expect Arsenal to win. Sheffield United do not have a lot of goals in them, but they will score. It will be a very exciting Monday night.”

Nicholas believes Arsenal will come out 3-2 winners on the day, but it is not a scoreline that really reflects how good Chris Wilder’s side have been at the back this season.

United have conceded just seven in eight Premier League fixtures so far this campaign, which is the joint-second best record in the top flight at the moment.

They showed in their last home game against Liverpool that they can restrict top-class forwards from getting clear cut opportunities against them, and you wouldn’t put it past them to do the same versus the Gunners.

Nicholas is right to point out that the Blades have struggled for goals and it does suggest this could be a tighter affair than the pundit is predicting.
