Sheffield United’s European Hopes Still Alive Following Latest Premier League Decision

Sheffield United could yet still qualify for European competitions this season following the latest announcement by the Premier League.

The 20 clubs met once again today to determine what to do in light of the pandemic sweeping the world, and they made two crucial decisions.

Firstly, they have decided that the season will be extended “indefinitely” which means that the league campaign could be resumed at any point in the future with no cut off point.

There had been some speculation about making the season “null and void” which would have ended the Blades’ dream of playing in the Champions League or the Europa League.

However, it is believed that the subject was not even mentioned at today’s meeting, although there is still no guarantee that the option will not be put back on the table in the future.

The second decision made by the Premier League was to postpone all games until April 30th, at the earliest, although that is subject to change depending on how severe the outbreak becomes.
