Sheffield United Vs Wigan: Match Preview & Injury News

Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United will be looking to pick up all the points they can get as we enter the business end of the Championship season – on Good Friday, the Blades will taken on a relegation-threatened Wigan Athletic outfit.

Daniel Jebbison, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Jack O’Connell and Ciaran Clark will all be unavailable for the game on Good Friday, as they continue to recover from their respective injuries – many of which are long-term.

Additionally, Ben Osborn and Enda Stevens are both doubts – Stevens was expected to appear in the Blades’ last game against Norwich City, but failed to make the matchday squad.

In their last game, Sheffield United defeated Norwich by a score of 1-0. United were the better team throughout the match – in the end, they got their reward thanks to a goal from Manchester City loanee James McAtee.

Meanwhile, Wigan were also victorious in their previous Championship fixture, as they beat a lacklustre QPR outfit. Max Power scored a penalty in the opening minutes, as the Latics held on for the rest of the game to pick up a much-needed three points.

The last time the two teams met, it was Sheffield United who would take home the win. The Blades’ goals were scored by Billy Sharp and John Egan – despite a goal from Nathan Broadhead in the second half, Wigan failed to find a leveller. Will it be repeat or revenge on April 7? Only time will tell.
