Sheffield United have done it – in midweek, they won promotion back to the Premier League. Nevertheless, the Championship season goes on – they will play Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.

The Blades will be without Rhys Norrington-Davies, Ben Osborn and Enda Stevens for their game against Preston. Long-injured Jack O’Connell is also set to miss out on the fixture.

In their previous league game, Sheffield United were promoted to England’s top flight once again as they beat Carlos Corberan’s West Brom by a score of 2-0. It was a composed, professional display by the Blades, despite the stakes at hand – their goals were scored by Sander Berge and Anel Ahmedhodzic on the night.

Preston, on the other hand, salvaged a draw in their last game as they took on Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers. Despite going 1-0 down in the 80th minute, Rovers’ Dominic Hyam put the ball into his own net in added time to give PNE a late equaliser.

When the two teams last played each other in the league, Sheffield United won by a score of 2-0, with Iliman Ndiaye and Oli McBurnie scoring the Blades’ goals on the day. Will the result be any different at Bramall Lane? Either way, the Blades’ promotion party rages on.
