Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United will be looking to solidify their spot in the automatic promotion places with a win over Bristol City at Bramall Lane on Tuesday evening.
Chris Basham is a doubt for the game against the Robins, as are Rhys Norrington-Davies, Ben Osborn and Enda Stevens. Anel Ahmedhodzic should be available, however – he missed the Blades’ last game after Heckingbottom granted him a leave of absence due to his wife going into labour.
In that game, United emerged victorious after an early scare against relegation-threatened Cardiff City. The Blades went 1-0 down after a penalty from Sory Kaba, but levelled the score just five minutes later thanks to a great strike from James McAtee.
From then on in, United were dominant – they scored an additional three goals after their first, thanks to Jack Robinson, Iliman Ndiaye and Ciaran Clark.
Bristol City, meanwhile, were beaten in their last game – they fell to a 2-0 away defeat against Watford. An early own goal from Harry Cornick put a dent in the Robins’ confidence – a second-half strike from Joao Pedro sealed the deal for the Hornets.
The last time the two teams met, Sheffield United came away with the three points after a tentative game with few chances. Ndiaye scored the only goal of the game – how will the reverse fixture pan out?
