Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that David McGoldrick and Callum Robinson will need to be assessed ahead of the match against Southampton this weekend.

McGoldrick played the full 90 minutes of Republic of Ireland’s draw versus Switzerland but suffered a shoulder injury, while Callum Robinson had to be substituted in the game against the Swiss with a hamstring problem.

John Fleck is still a doubt for the weekend. The midfielder has not featured since the win against Crystal Palace due to a thigh injury. Kean Bryan remains sidelined with a knock.

Sheffield United’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton:

Henderson, Baldock, Basham, Egan, O’Connell, Stevens, Lundstram, Freeman, Norwood, McBurnie, Sharp

Southampton could be without Nathan Redmond who is still struggling with an ankle injury, while defender Kevin Danso is suspended after being sent off against Manchester United last time out.

The Saints are set to welcome back Ryan Bertrand who has missed the last two league fixtures with an ankle problem, while Michael Obafemi will also be available. Summer signing Moussa Djenepo is said to be losing his fitness battle to feature at Bramall Lane.

Southampton’s Predicted XI:

Gunn, Soares, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Hojbjerg, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Adams, Ings, Boufal

The bookies are backing the Blades to get the three points with Unibet pricing them at 31/20 for the win. A draw is 85/40 with BetVictor while a Southampton victory is 23/10 also at Unibet.
