Sheffield United Star Close To Agreeing New Two And A Half Year Contract

Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick is close to signing a contract extension at Bramall Lane, according to reports.

The 31-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but he is now expected to put pen to paper on a new two and a half year contract.

McGoldrick has been in excellent form this season, having formed a lethal partnership with Billy Sharp up front.

He has scored ten goals in 28 appearances this campaign, including five in his last seven games for the Blades.

McGoldrick joined on a free transfer from Ipswich Town in the summer, but he has performed well above expectations.

The Republic of Ireland international will seemingly be rewarded for his efforts helping United in their push for promotion.

Chris Wilder’s side face Norwich City in the top of the table clash tomorrow afternoon. The Canaries currently sit second, three points ahead of the Blades in fourth.
