Sheffield United Set To Join Battle For £5.3m Rated World Cup Finalist

Sheffield United are one of a number of teams interested in signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida, according to reports in Turkey.

The Croatian, who reached the World Cup final with his country in 2018, is said to be available for around €6m (£5.3m) as Besiktas look to ease their financial difficulties.

In addition to the Blades, West Brom are also believed to be keen with Baggies manager Slaven Bilic having given Vida his debut for Croatia back in 2010.

Marseille are another team who reportedly have an interest in the 31-year-old while there were reports last week linking the centre-back with a move to Liverpool.

Chris Wilder could be in the market for another centre-half, with Panagiotis Retsos expected to return to Bayer Leverkusen when his loan spell comes to an end.

United have been linked with Olympiakos defender Pape Abou Cisse in recent weeks but, with the Senegalese international having a €20m asking price, a move for Vida would certainly prove to be a cheaper option.
