Sheffield United Reportedly Preparing Swoop For Birmingham City Playmaker

Sheffield United are considering a January swoop for Birmingham City playmaker Jota, according to reports.

The Spaniard signed from Brentford for approximately £6m in the summer of 2017 when Harry Redknapp was in charge.

However, during his first season at St Andrew’s, Jota struggled to find his form as the Blues flirted with relegation.

Under new manager Garry Monk,  the 27-year-old began to show what he was capable of. Since the start of this campaign, the right-sided midfielder has scored one goal and provided four assists in just 12 appearances.

With Birmingham under strict transfer restrictions due to falling foul of Financial Fairplay rules, the Blues would be unlikely to sell the midfielder unless a significant bid was made.

The Blades have been in good goalscoring form this season, with 21 goals from 12 games played, but it seems manager Chris Wilder is seeking to add more guile in United’s midfield to help with their promotion challenge in the second half of the campaign.
