Sheffield United Receive 12.7M Bid From Champions League Club For 24 Year Old Midfielder

Club Brugge have submitted a €15m (£12.7m) offer plus bonuses for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, according to reports in the Belgian media.

The Blades have already rejected the proposal for the 24-year-old as it is below their valuation of the player, but it remains to be seen if the Pro League club will return with an improved bid.

Berge has been the subject of interest from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Leeds and Aston Villa in the past, but no team has ever managed to meet United’s asking price.

The Yorkshire club paid Genk £22m for the Norwegian international two and a half years ago, and they are keen to make some sort of profit on the player.

It is believed that Berge would be keen on joining Brugge, with their participation in this season’s Champions League likely to be one of the big draws for him. However, he won’t be allowed to leave on the cheap.
