Sheffield United Players Whose Contracts Will Expire in the Summer – Part Two

In the last piece we did, we looked at six Sheffield United players whose current deals will run out at the end of June. Today, we’ll be looking at the remaining five players who are out of contract in the summer.

How many of these talented footballers would you like to see remain at the club for next season? Press the next page to find out who could be leaving Bramall Lane.

Ben Osborn

The 28-year-old joined the Blades back in 2019, upon their promotion to the Premier League under former boss Chris Wilder. The initial deal that he signed is set to expire in the summer of 2023.

A former England youth international, he played for Nottingham Forest (despite being a Derby County supporter as a youngster) before making the jump to South Yorkshire.

This season, Osborn has made 14 Championship appearances for Sheffield United, scoring a single goal.

Enda Stevens

Former Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Doncaster Rovers defender Enda Stevens quickly developed into a fan favourite following his arrival at Sheffield United. A defensively sound fullback, who’s excellent in advanced positions, he was one of the Blades’ better players during their Premier League stint.

Stevens has also shone for his international team, the Republic of Ireland. In total, he’s earned 25 caps for the Boys in Green.

He’s not been quite as vital to the team this year – he’s only made ten league appearances. At 32, could his time at Bramall Lane be over?

Daniel Jebbison

Canadian starlet Daniel Jebbison is starting to grow into the player Paul Heckingbottom hopes he will become. This season, he’s scored two goals in ten games – but it’s important to remember that he’s only 19.

Last season, he spent time on loan at Burton Albion, where he scored seven goals across 20 League One games. He’s also been sent out to Chorley.

It would be a shame to see Jebbison leave at the end of this season – will he be offered a new deal soon?

Wes Foderingham

An experienced shot-stopper who has played for the likes of Swindon Town and Rangers in the past, Foderingham has been a Sheffield United player since 2020.

At 32, the keeper’s best days may be behind him. This being said, he has been Sheffield United’s first choice this season, starting in 25 of their league games.

Additionally, he’s only let 21 goals in. He’s a talented goalkeeper and United could do far worse if he is let go at the end of the season.

Jack Robinson

Jack Robinson was snapped up by Chris Wilder back in 2020, in an effort to strengthen the Blades’ squad. While a useful defender, Robinson has never really progressed beyond being a rotation option.

He’s had something of a nomadic career, playing for the likes of Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Liverpool. He played several times for England at youth level, but has yet to win a cap for the senior team.

At 29, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Robinson leave in the summer. A solid defender at Championship level, it’s hard to make a case for him in the Premier League.
