Sheffield United Keen On Last Minute Deal For Midfield Maestro

Sheffield United are keeping tabs on Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to the Sheffield Star. Blades boss Chris Wilder is looking to sign another midfielder before the transfer window closes and the 23-year-old is said to be on the list of targets.

The central midfield player has less than 12 months left on his contract at Elland Road but the Whites have kept their asking price high to ward off potential suitors.

Aston Villa are also said to be considering a bid for Phillips before the transfer deadline while Burnley are believed to have already made a player plus cash offer in recent days for the 23-year-old.

United have not made an official bid for the Leeds midfielder yet, but they don’t have much time if they want to complete the deal before the window shuts at 5 pm tomorrow.

Phillips played a prominent role as Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion from the Championship last campaign, and he started the Yorkshire side’s 3-1 win over Bristol City on the opening day last weekend.
