Sheffield United Join 3M Transfer Scramble For League One Hotshot

Sheffield United are the latest club to join the race to sign Peterborough forward Siriki Dembele, according to reports in the English media.

The Blades and Fulham are both thought to be preparing bids for the 24-year-old before the transfer window closes at the end of this week.

Dembele is said to be valued at £3m by Peterborough and it is believed that a whole host of clubs are keeping tabs on the striker‘s situation.

Old Firm duo Rangers and Celtic have both been linked with the player in recent months, while it has been confirmed by Peterborough’s Director of Football Barry Fry that Nottingham Forest have had a loan offer turned down for the player.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Dembele handed in a transfer request to force through a move but Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has recently stated that he has held talks with the forward. During the discussions, it was agreed he would stay until the summer but a bid from the Blades may prompt a rethink.
