Sheffield United Injury News Ahead Of The Games This Week

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that David McGoldrick has been ruled out of tonight’s game against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup due to a groin problem.

The Blades boss revealed that the Republic of Ireland international is also a doubt for the match versus Liverpool on Saturday:

“David won’t be available. He’ll be touch and go for the weekend. That’s disappointing for David, and for us.”

Wilder also said that he has a “few other” injuries and suspensions which will determine his thinking with regards to selection for tonight’s cup tie.

The only other injury that is known about at the moment is the knock that defender Kean Bryan is carrying. The 22-year-old has not featured for United since the last round of the Carabao Cup when he had to be substituted in the first half against Blackburn Rovers.

Wilder will be hoping that McGoldrick and any other players carrying niggles will be available for the biggest test of the season so far, when they welcome the league leaders to Bramall Lane.
