Sheffield United have £9.5m Offer Accepted For French Marksman

Sheffield United have had a bid accepted by Bournemouth for forward Lys Mousset, according to reports in the English media.

The deal could reach £9.5m, including add-ons, with manager Chris Wilder poised to break the club’s transfer record for the second time in a week.

Callum Robinson joined the Blades from Preston for a reported £8m on Friday, and the transfer for Mousset is expected to eclipse that deal.

The Frenchman, who has also been linked with Celtic, has not had the best of times since moving to the Cherries from Le Harve three years ago.

In 71 appearances for Bournemouth, Mousset has scored just five goals, but it must be said that manager Eddie Howe rarely started the forward.

The 23-year-old has started just 19 times in all competitions, with the majority of his matches coming in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Mousset’s last goal for the club came in the 5-1 defeat to Arsenal back in February. It was the last time he was named in the starting line up by the South coast club.
