Sheffield United Handed Boost In Battle To Secure £50m Rated Goalkeeper

Chelsea would be prepared to pay £50m for Dean Henderson, according to reports in the English media. The 23-year-old, who is currently on loan at Sheffield United could be subject of a sizeable bid from the Blues in the summer.

However, his parent club Manchester United are determined to keep the shot-stopper, and it could even mean that the former England Under 21 international spends a third season at Bramall Lane.

United are set to offer Henderson a new £100,000 a week contract to ward off interest from Chelsea, and while they still see David De Gea as their number one, they will sanction another temporary move away from Old Trafford if he wishes to play more first-team football.

That will be welcome news to Blades boss Chris Wilder who very recently admitted that the Yorkshire club would be keen to keep hold of the keeper beyond the end of his current loan deal.
