REPORT: Blades Set To See Off Villa As They Secure £18.5m Henderson Replacement

Sheffield United will complete the signing of Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station claims that despite late interest from Aston Villa and one other Premier League club, the Blades are expected to finalise the £18.5m transfer.

Ramsdale left Bramall Lane three and a half years ago for just £1m but he has excelled since moving to the Cherries, becoming their number one last season. His signature will, though, mean the end of United’s interest in Dean Henderson.

Manager Chris Wilder was hopeful of bringing in the 23-year-old for a third successive loan spell but the Yorkshire side have now decided to go after a permanent option between the sticks.

It remains to be seen what that means for Henderson’s future, with the Manchester United goalkeeper having also been linked with the likes of Chelsea in recent weeks. For the Blades, though, it appears they have secured the signing of another excellent young shot-stopper.
