Sheffield United are “keen” on making a move for Hibernian left-back Josh Doig, according to the Edinburgh Evening News.
The 20-year-old has been the target of much speculation over the past twelve months following some standout performances for Hibs in the Scottish Premiership.
Arsenal were credited with an interest in Doig last summer, while Celtic have also been mentioned as potential suitors as they look to strengthen their options on the left-hand side of defence.
However, Doig did have a somewhat difficult season for Hibs, with the Edinburgh club ending up finishing in the bottom half of the table.
With Doig being one of the team’s brightest young prospects, though, the Blades have seemingly been keeping an eye on his progress, with manager Paul Heckingbottom undoubtedly aware of the player following his brief stint in charge of Hibernian a few years ago. We shall see if United step up their interest with a formal bid in the coming weeks.
