Palace Join Two Other Clubs As Race To Sign Blades Star On Free Transfer Heats Up

Crystal Palace, Rangers and Burnley are the three teams who are expected to battle it out for Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram, according to reports in the English media.

The 27-year-old has failed to agree teams on a new contract with the Blades and the player is now expected to leave Bramall Lane on a free transfer when his current deal expires in June.

Manager Chris Wilder has continued to play Lundstram despite the increasing likelihood that he will be moving on in the summer. The midfielder has started the Yorkshire club’s last 11 league games and his continued selection has raised eyebrows among fans.

Wilder has said that Lundstram has put his head down and concentrated on his football, even though his future is uncertain, but it is still surprising to see him be given so much game time, considering it seems inevitable that he’ll be moving clubs.

At the moment, it is not known who are the favourites for Lundstram’s signature, although Palace do appear to be the team who have made the most recent approach for the player.
