Nicholas Predicts A Tight Game As Sheffield United Take On Newcastle

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas believes there won’t be much between Sheffield United and Newcastle when the two sides meet at Bramall Lane tomorrow night.

The Blades are three points above the Magpies heading into the game, despite there being six places between the two teams after last weekend’s results, and Nicholas expects it to be a tight affair:

“Sheffield United are going great. They have 18 points and people are very surprised by the start they’ve made this season. They only have four wins in 14 games but have only lost three too. They do not lose away from home and they have picked up slightly at home.”

“These are the types of games which the Premier League throw up. There are only three points between them so it is not as clear cut as some people might think. It is incredibly tight at the bottom. It tells you how well some of bottom teams have done.”

Nicholas has gone for a 1-1 draw, and the former Arsenal forward is certainly right to predict a low scoring game, considering the two teams have not been that prolific in front of goal this season.

While Sheffield United have managed 17 goals in their 14 league fixtures, the away side have netted just 13. Even so, the Blades should still be favourites to get the three points with Newcastle having conceded 16 goals in seven matches on the road this campaign.

After scoring three goals against Manchester United in their last home game, manager Chris Wilder will be confident of getting a result tomorrow.
