Michael Owen Predicts How Sheffield United Will Fare Against Arsenal

Former England striker Michael Owen is predicting Sheffield United will lose against Arsenal when they travel to the Emirates tomorrow afternoon.

The TV pundit thinks that the Gunners will miss Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to the captain’s suspension but he believes the home side have been revitalised under new head coach Mikel Arteta, and he is backing them to get the result:

“I feel they will keep all three points against Sheffield United back at the Emirates. The Gunners were very poor in the reverse fixture at Bramall Lane earlier in the season, but they are a different side under Mikel Arteta playing with more energy and passion. The Blades have only lost at Anfield and the Etihad in the league so far this season, but I expect Arsenal to keep the points.”

It’s surprising that Owen doesn’t think the Blades’ superb away record in the Premier League will have a bearing on the result. Chris Wilder’s side have been excellent defensively on the road and they will be looking to frustrate the Gunners tomorrow.

Arsenal, meanwhile, haven’t actually been that great at home themselves this campaign, having won just four of their 11 league games. Under Arteta, the Gunners have won one and lost one at the Emirates, but performances have certainly improved under the Spaniard’s leadership and Wilder’s men will have to be at the top of their game to get something out of the match.
