Manchester United Join Three Clubs In Pursuing 18 Year Old Blades Defender

Manchester United are among the four teams interested in signing Sheffield United centre-back Kyron Gordon, according to the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old has impressed scouts from the Red Devils, Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United, with all of them keeping tabs on the player’s development.

Gordon has yet to play a first-team game, but he has been an unused substitute on three separate occasions this season. Former manager Chris Wilder named the defender on the bench for the 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers back in January.

The centre-half was also in the matchday squad for the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the league later that month. Caretaker boss Paul Heckingbottom then selected him as a substitute in the FA Cup against Chelsea only a few weeks ago.

With Gordon having just one year left on his contract, the Blades are vulnerable to losing him for a low price so it will be hoped they can tie him down to a long-term deal.
