Lawrenson Predicts The Outcome As Sheffield United Take On Liverpool

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson does not expect Sheffield United to take advantage of Liverpool‘s poor form when they face the Reds at Bramall Lane tomorrow.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have won just two of their last eleven Premier League games but Lawrenson thinks the Blades haven’t done enough in recent matches to show they are good enough to pull off an upset:

“Sheffield United have only won once at Bramall Lane all season and they were pretty poor in their defeat at Fulham last week too. The Blades will know that the Reds have a weakness at the back and they really have to go for it here anyway – there is no point them playing for a draw. I just fancy Liverpool to pick them off though.”

Lawrenson has gone for a 2-0 win to Liverpool, which is a surprising prediction in some ways considering the Premier League champions have been struggling for goals in recent months, just as much as United have been.

This is likely to be a cagey affair, with neither team having shown much going forward in their respective defeats to Fulham and Everton last time out. A mistake may decide the outcome and, considering the Blades’ luck this season, they may well end up on the wrong end of another undeserved defeat. We shall see if they can buck that trend tomorrow night.
