Latest Sheffield United Injury News For The Week

Sheffield United forward Callum Robinson had to sit out a training session with the Republic of Ireland today after feeling tightness in his thigh.

The issue is unlikely to keep him out of the Euro 2020 qualifier against Switzerland tomorrow night, but Blades boss Chris Wilder and his backroom staff will certainly be keeping a close eye on him.

Robinson has started all four of Sheffield United’s league games so far this season, scoring his first goal for the club last weekend in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

John Fleck is continuing to struggle with his own thigh injury. The 28-year-old has not played since the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace and Wilder says they will be patient in his recovery.

It seems unlikely that he’ll be in the starting line up when the Blades face Southampton at Bramall Lane after the international break.

United’s only other fitness concern is Kean Bryan. The centre-back suffered a knock to his ankle during the Carabao Cup win against Blackburn last week, and won’t be in contention for the matchday squad for the Saints game.
