Latest Sheffield United Injury News Ahead Of The Game Against Liverpool

Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram is a major doubt for the Blades’ next game against Liverpool after failing to recover from an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old sustained the issue during the 1-1 draw against Watford on Boxing Day and was not in the squad for the 2-0 defeat against Manchester City last night.

Manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that Lundstram will be given every opportunity to recover his fitness, but it is more than likely that Muhamed Besic will keep his place for the trip to Anfield.

The Blades’ only other reported injury is to second-choice goalkeeper Simon Moore. The 29-year-old has missed the last three matches due to a groin problem and is not expected to return to the matchday squad on Thursday.

Michael Verrips has been named on the bench in recent games, and he will likely be Dean Henderson’s backup once again when they line up against Liverpool later this week.
