Journalist Reveals Blades Could Be In Danger Of Losing 22M Midfielder For Nothing

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge is willing to see out the remaining eighteen months on his contract at Bramall Lane, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Sun reporter shared the news on his personal Patreon page, claiming the Norwegian international is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Blades.

Berge joined the Yorkshire side from Genk for £22m just over three years ago and he has been heavily linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds and even Chelsea have been mentioned as potential suitors but no team has been able to match United’s asking price.

With the club embroiled in takeover talks, there is no chance that Berge will be offered a contract extension at the moment anyway. If Dozy Mmobuosi does become owner and the club are promoted back to the Premier League, the player’s stance could change but, for now, it seems he will be leaving the Blades on a free transfer.
