Journalist Raises Fear That “Transformative” Blades Star Could Leave In January

Sheffield United attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White could be recalled from his loan spell at Bramall Lane by Wolves in the January transfer window, according to Alan Biggs.

Writing in his column for the Sheffield Star, the veteran journalist has raised the possibility that the England Under 21 international may return to Molineux earlier than expected if he maintains his current form over the next few months:

“The 21-year-old from Wolves has been transformative for a team lacking dynamism from midfield; providing pace, the ability to take out defenders and a scoring threat that has delivered twice already. But – and this is by no means a criticism – can a loan player do almost too well?”

Biggs used Gibbs-White’s spell at Swansea City last season as an example of what could happen. The Swans brought in the youngster on loan in August last year, only for his parent club to recall him at the start of 2021.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage has already stated that he wasn’t happy with the player leaving on a temporary basis in the first place and, after the midfielder’s two goals and two assists in five appearances for United, he may be regretting the decision all the more.
