Journalist Provides New Update On The Blades’ Attempts To Sign Bosnian Star For 3M

Sheffield United are still waiting for a response on their £3m offer for Malmo centre-back Amel Ahmedhodzic, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

It was reported at the weekend that the Blades had tabled a bid for the Bosnian international and, when asked for an update on Twitter, Nixon said United are keen to get an answer on whether their proposal will be accepted:

There are some serious complications surrounding a deal for Ahmedhodzic. He is currently on loan at Bordeaux, who have an obligation to buy the defender if certain conditions are met.

However, the French club are in serious financial trouble and have been demoted to the third tier. It seems unlikely that the player or the club would want to go through with the transfer.

Ahmedhodzic’s loan spell officially comes to an end on June 30th so the Blades shouldn’t have to wait too long before knowing whether a move is possible.

The 23-year-old has been linked with Chelsea in the past, so it could be a big coup for manager Paul Heckingbottom if United can get a deal over the line.
