‘Great Signing’ ‘Statement Of Intent’ – Fans On Twitter Happy As Sheffield United Secure Deadline Day Deal

Sheffield United have signed Aston Villa forward Scott Hogan on loan for the rest of the season.

The striker was being pursued by a number of clubs but the Blades managed to secure a deal for the 26-year-old on deadline day.

Supporters on Twitter believe manager Chris Wilder has done well to bring in Hogan:

United have given themselves some added firepower as they look to sustain their promotion challenge in the second half of the campaign.

Hogan struggled for games during his time at Villa but he has proven to be a decent goalscorer at this level in the past.

He may have only scored ten goals in 61 appearances in his spell at Villa Park but prior to his £12m move, he had hit 21 in 36 games for Brentford.

Blades fans would be delighted if Hogan can recapture the form he showed at the Bees, but even if he doesn’t, he should prove to be a capable understudy for Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick.
