Everton have begun scouting Sheffield United attacking midfielder Iliman Ndiaye ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports in England.

The Toffees are said to have joined the likes of West Ham and Newcastle in pursuing the Senegalese international, who has been in impressive form for the Blades this season.

Ndiaye’s contract at Bramall Lane expires in under eighteen months’ time and talks over a new deal have not taken place due to United’s transfer embargo and potential takeover talks.

It means that the 23-year-old’s future at the club is far from certain, despite the fact that he has been a key part of a team challenging for automatic promotion.

Ndiaye has scored 12 goals in 40 appearances so far this campaign, and he is currently the Blades’ joint top scorer, along with Oli McBurnie. When the forward was linked with a move away from the club in January, the club’s asking price was said to be £22m but, due to his contract situation, that figure will have to be lowered this summer.
