Enquiries Made As Chelsea Consider Future Of Sheffield United Loanee

Chelsea have already fielded “preliminary loan enquiries” for Ethan Ampadu ahead of next season, according to The Athletic.

The Wales international spent a year on loan with Sheffield United. While he did not pull up any trees with his performances for the Blades, there is a possibility that they would be keen on re-signing him as they attempt to bounce back from relegation to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Ampadu made 29 appearances in total for United, before an injury ended his time at Bramall Lane prematurely. His future at Chelsea is up in the air, with manager Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff having not made a decision on whether the player will be included in his first-team plans for next season.

The defender is expected to be assessed during the European Championships, where he is likely to feature prominently for Wales, and a judgement will be made after the tournament.
