Duffy Praises Impact Of Sheffield United Summer Signing After Superb Derby Display

Sheffield United midfielder Mark Duffy has praised his teammate Oli Norwood for his performances this season.

The Northern Irish international arrived from Brighton on loan back in August, with the deal set to be made permanent in January.

Since joining the Blades, Norwood has proven to be an integral figure in the heart of midfield, and Duffy thinks the player’s passing ability is helping United to perform at a higher level:

“He drops deep and can spray passes 60 or 70 yards, and make it look easy. He’s fitted in perfectly here since he arrived, and has done fantastically well.”

Chris Wilder’s side are currently fourth in the table, three points off Norwich City at the top of the Championship table, with Norwood having started all 14 league games since his arrival at Bramall Lane.

The 27-year-old scored his first goal for the club in the 4-1 win over Aston Villa at the beginning of September, and he has also contributed three assists during that time.

Last time out in the Steel City derby, he completed just 26 fewer passes than the whole Sheffield Wednesday team managed during the entire 90 minutes, demonstrating how he has established himself as the team’s playmaker.
