CONFIRMED: Blades Snap Up Manchester United Star

Sheffield United have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on a season-long loan deal, the club have confirmed.

Manager Chris Wilder has said the Blades had to work very hard to get the deal over the line:

“Dean was always our number one target. We’ve had to fight to get a good deal and that’s part and parcel of our approach in the transfer market.”

“All of us, from myself to the coaching staff, to the player and the supporters want him playing for us in the Premier League and with a lot of hard work we’ve made that happen.”

Henderson is Wilder’s seventh signing, with the club having also unveiled Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn earlier in the day.

Despite a quiet start to the summer, the Yorkshire club have upped their game in recent weeks.

They have broken their transfer record twice so far, having signed Callum Robinson from Preston North End for £8m, while Lys Mousset sealed a £9.5m move from Bournemouth earlier this week.

Whether Wilder has finished strengthening his squad for the club’s return to the top flight, it remains to be seen.

There are now just two weeks before the transfer window closes and just 15 days before the first game of the season. The Blades face Bournemouth on the opening day.
