Chris Wilder to leave Sheffield United for the Premier League?

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has tweeted about who he believes could be in line to manage Everton next, and it’s not good news for Blades fans.

The Toffees sacked manager Ronald Koeman this week after a poor start to the season despite much investment in the summer, with Everton currently sitting in the relegation zone.

Plenty of big managerial names have already been linked with the job at Goodison Park. David Moyes is supposedly in the running to return to his former club, and Burnley’s Sean Dyche has been tipped to succeed Koeman after working wonders with the Clarets in recent years.

However, Ferdinand believes that Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder could be in with a shout at getting the job at Burnley if Dyche takes over at Everton.

Wilder has done an amazing job with Sheffield United since he replaced Nigel Atkins as manager, helping the Blades gain promotion from League One with a moderate budget and become promotion contenders in the Championship too.

At present his record makes him the most successful football league manager, and Southend boss Phil Brown labelled him as the ‘manager of the century’ on channel 5 sport.

Could you see Wilder leaving the Blades to pursue Premier League management?
