Charlie Nicholas Predicts The Result As The Blades Face Tottenham

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas is expecting Sheffield United to go toe-to-toe when they host Spurs at Bramall Lane this evening.

The Blades have been in very poor form since the restart, but Nicholas believes Chris Wilder’s side will look to get in the faces of Tottenham’s players and make it difficult for their opponents:

“Sheffield United will be annoyed for losing the way they did against Arsenal, and the way their league form has gone since the restart will be as clear an indicator as any that they must improve.”

“They will try to rattle Tottenham and get stuck into them. I still think Sheffield United are good enough to take a point from this one.”

Nicholas has gone for a 1-1 draw, which is somewhat of a surprise considering United’s recent performances. As mentioned, there was a marked improvement against Arsenal in the FA Cup but their league displays have been disappointing.

They have picked up just one solitary point since the Premier League’s return last month, scoring no goals and conceding six.

Spurs, in contrast, have picked up four points in their first two games, and with the Blades having played twice since Jose Mourinho’s men last played, you to have to believe they will be the fresher team as well.

Even so, United will be determined to get their season back in track, and if they do win tonight, they could move up to seventh in the table.
